Economy is in a slump and gasoline is around four dollars for a gallon. Many have pledged to develop other vehicles that produce fewer emissions. They plan to do so while continuing to provide exceptional performance.

Economy is in a slump and gasoline is around four dollars for a gallon. Many have pledged to develop other vehicles that produce fewer emissions. They plan to do so while continuing to provide exceptional performance.

These hopefuls believe that hydrogen can and will deliver these results. Especially those that are knee deep in the “green” thing. They are beginning to realize that petroleum-based gasoline, which is used in a traditional internal combustion engines, produces hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide emissions.

The problem is emissions. Emissions are a result of this process and greatly contribute to environmental pollution. If a vehicle were to be able to run on hydrogen rather than water the result would be no hydrocarbon or carbon dioxide emissions at all.

The result would be further that there would be no output at all from the tailpipe. What does come out of the tailpipe could actually be cleaner than the air coming into the engine. Designing a gasoline engine to burn hydrogen fuel has typically resulted in significantly lower power output – until now.

It is being discovered that with supercharging, the hydrogen internal combustion engine can deliver the same power as its gasoline counterpart. It can do this and still provide near-zero-emissions performance and high fuel economy. For hydrogen to be widely accepted and utilized, a hydrogen refueling infrastructure must be developed so vehicle owners can fill their hydrogen tanks.

Ford has begun this process in Detroit, Berlin and Hiroshima.

As complex as it may seem, it can be done! The Ford Focus FCV is powered by hydrogen and has a fuel cell instead of a battery to produce electricity.

In fact, Florida has opened two fuel-based hydrogen stations in six months in their commitment to explore the potential of hydrogen. The hydrogen technology began in early 1990.

Cars can run off water in the future. The idea of paying people sometimes more than four dollars per gallon of gas is crazy. This is not the only problem, people must also be concerned about their purchases of fuel so they can get to work and back without using a piece of their salary.

In simple terms, a car can run on water. The engine itself is hydrogen. Hydrogen is produced by electrolysis. A certain voltage and frequency must be used to produce enough gas.

The only byproduct of the process is boron oxide. Vegetable Oil According to New Scientist magazine, the Researchers have discovered that they can mix the element boron with water. This can easily last for months while increasing your vehicle fuel efficiency.

It is expected that Toyota Prius may be recalled in the US and Japan sometime this week.

It is expected that Toyota Prius may be recalled in the US and Japan sometime this week.

Toyota Prius was supposed to be the hybrid car of the millennium and it had managed to get a lot of good press in the past few months. However, as of today, some 270,000 Toyota Prius cars are likely to be recalled to fix an issue with the braking system of the car that can possbily cause instances of brake failures, leading to safety risk for drivers. It is not sure as to how Toyota will recover from this onslaught because it has already been reeling under immense pressure due to an earlier recall notice that affected 2.3 million vehicles.

The latest reported glitch with Toyota Prius follows an announcement of a recall of millions of vehicles due to issues with the accelerator pedal. The Japanese Government had to ask Toyota to investigate complaints of brake failures by Japanese drivers. And upon an investigation, it was found that the anti-lock brake system could cause the brakes not to work as they should. This, obviously, is a risk for drivers and hence the respective Governments of Japan and US had to get involved in getting Toyota to address the issue.

Toyota Prius’s brake glitch seems to be a software problem and currently impacts the 320,000 Prius cars that been sold this year. Most of these cars have been sold in Japan and the US, and hence a recall is expected to be announced sometime this week or possible next week. While Toyota is already reeling under the recall of 2.3 million vehicles that had to be recalled due to the accelerator pedal problems, the latest glitch is going to further dent the brand and reputation of Toyota.

Toyota is going to lose a lot in the short-term and medium-term. Its strategy to win over customer confidence will be the deciding factor on whether the loses percolate to longterm revenues. The loss to the company has been unthinkable; $33 Billion erosion of market value and a 22% dip in the stock value bears a testimony to the lost customer confidence. On top of this, Toyota has to cope up with 29 lawsuits that have been filed in multiple Courts of the US and Canada to claim damages from the automotive manufacturer.

The figures look very bad for Toyota and nobody is accounting for the loss of value on account of loss of confidence amongst the customer base. If you look at the intangible costs of lost-customer confidence then the losses for Toyota will run in billions of dollars and it will take them an extended number of years to come out of this mess. For now, the company seems to be walking cautiously and still in a quandary on whether to call the Prius or not.

Save fuels costs by using business fuel cards for your organization. Pick one of the most appropriate fuel card options for business organizations.

Alternative Fuel is highly prescribed in most states since it is less harmful to the environment compared to the regular fuels such as gasoline and petroleum. Like everything else, Alternative Fuel has its advantages and disadvantages. Understanding both may prove to be an advantage for you, your vehicle, and the environment.

Alternative Fuel includes methanol, natural gas, propane gas, blended fuels (gasoline or diesel), ethanol, hydrogen, and electricity (when used as the only source of direct propulsion energy). It is dubbed as the single most important key to energy independence.

There has been an increase in the demand for vehicles that utilizes fuel instead of gasoline. This has caused auto manufacturers to produce more Alternative Fuel Vehicles. In the United States, E85 fuel is highly recommended by the United States’ Department of Energy. This is because E85 fuel burns cleaner than gasoline, it is renewable, and it is known for its superior quality performance.

E85, is 85 percent ethanol. Contrary to popular belief of ethanol being rare, it is actually widespread. In fact, ethanol-blended fuel has been available to about 80% of America’s gas stations for some time now. An Alternative Fuel usually confused to Ethanol, biodiesel is produced from products such as chicken fat and soybean oil and is different from Ethanol.

Compared to Petroleum and Gasoline, E85 Alternative Fuel contains more oxygen. This means it keeps intake valves and fuel injectors cleaner. Ethanol-enhanced gas also lessens pre-ignition problems such as pinging and knocking. And since E85 fuel has higher tolerance to water contamination compared to gasoline and petroleum, it is more effective to use in cold weather as it absorbs moisture and prevents the gas from freezing. E85 also reduces green house gas emissions to as much as 37.1% and other air pollutants such as nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide.

Alternative Fuel is qualified as a unique fuel. This means it only functions with Alternative Fuel Vehicles. So despite its advantages, it is only limited to Alternative Fuel vehicles. Another disadvantage is its lower energy content compared to gasoline and petroleum. Lower energy content means fewer miles per gallon. Another disadvantage is unavailability of E85 gas establishments. This has made E85 accessible only to a limited number of motorists.

Generally, E85 Natural Alternative Fuel is used in vehicles with high concentration of ethanol solution. At present, Alternative Fuels and Alternative Fuel Vehicles only make a small contribution to energy economy in the transportation sector. However, there are advances that are being developed each year. Continuous research on this field has become more and more a necessity as the prices of petroleum and gasoline continue to increase together with the rapidly growing concern for the environment.
